Partner Code 128979 for AvaTrade: The Real Story

People message me about partner codes all the time. Same question every time: do they give you free trades or discounted spreads?

Nope. AvaTrade doesn't charge commission on forex. You pay the spread. That's the cost. A partner code doesn't touch it.

Partner code 128979 gets you access to the deposit bonus. Bonus money added to your account based on deposit size. Nothing more complicated than that.

How much bonus do you receive?

Put in $1,000, receive $200 bonus.

$2,000 adds $400.

$5,000 to $9,999 adds $1,000.

Maximum bonus is $14,000 for deposits above $100,000. Not many traders reach that level.

UK accounts start at £160 for £800 deposited. Scales up to £11,200 128979 maximum.

Account minimum is $100. Minimum for any bonus is $1,000.

Finding the partner code field

Registration page. Once you've filled in your phone number, you'll see small text reading "Have a Partner Code?". Click the arrow. The field expands. Type **128979**.

Most people miss it because it doesn't look like a proper form field until you click.

Sometimes it shows as invalid, don't worry. Complete your registration. Reach out to your account manager first. Ask them to add code 128979. Standard practice for them.

There's a catch with the bonus

You need to trade a certain volume.

Roughly 10,000 units traded per $1 bonus. A $200 bonus means trading 2,000,000 units before that $200 unlocks. Slower if you're trading micro lots. Regular trading gets you there sooner than you'd expect.

Your own money stays yours. Take it out anytime. Bonus funds remain locked until volume is met.

Something useful to understand: locked bonus funds still contribute to your margin. Allows for slightly larger trades. For someone still learning, that buffer can keep you in the game long enough to figure things out.
